Canon photo printer for sticky pictures
$$
This is a great stocking stuffer for the journaler in your life. It’s a tiny sleek printer with adhesive paper so you can capture memories, edit them on your phone, print them instantly, and peel and stick them on the page! It’s a favorite at all our JoClub retreats, and I’m always happy to see pictures sprinkled in my journals.
Pen Scroll
$
This item was recommended by our art journaling queen and facilitator, Melissa F. As an artist, she always carried around a pen scroll filled with fun colors to put on the page. But she started a craze amongst the journaling community, we run out of ink so often, a pen scroll is not only essential, but one of those items that make you feel like a true documentarian.
For the Language Lover
Fluentish
$
There were no language learning journals or planners, so I had to publish one myself. I’ve designed this journal for language learners of all stages. This is like a giant workbook where you can store your notes, find new resources, and of course, journal in your target language. Complete with habit trackers, monthly planning, and a rewards system, you’ll stay motivated and linguistically challenged one page at a time.
Language Toolkit
$
A meaty course with my best time management tips, tips on how to integrate your new language into your life, I identify the different learning styles, and give tips for each learning style. I give you memory hacking tricks, and share my top 20 secrets to language learning. I poured my heart into this.
For the Traveler
Samsonite bags
$$
I’m a rough traveler. Let’s get that out of the way. I travel often and intensely and most bags don’t stand a chance. Samsonite is the only brand that has lasted me more than a decade. They’re an investment, and come with a giant warranty, so totally worth it in my opinion. The wheels roll like butter and the shell on these bags could stop bullets. Ok maybe they couldn’t. But damn, are they good.
Portable luggage scale
$
The amount of times this one small device has saved me is uncountable. I never travel without mine. This is especially important for the traveler who always checks in luggage and hoards things. Me. At first, it seems like a silly gift, but when you’ve prevented being that person hunched over like a noob while packing your bags on the airport floor, you’ll be glad you got it.
APL Sneaker Travel Shoe
$$
I once got these shoes as a gift from an influencer event and now I don’t travel without them. They’re not only incredibly comfortable, attractive, they double as running shoes for those hectic airport days, but they’re also easy to take off and on so you’re not being that guy holding up the security line if you have to remove your shoes. I’ve had mine for 7 years. Not going back.
Cross body bag
$
You won’t catch me traveling without one. The good news is that most check-in-counters don’t even count this as an extra bag. So I usually go in the plan with my wheely carry on, a backpack, and my cross body bag. Worst case, I can pop the cross body bag in my backpack and then expand once I’m in the plane. These cross body bags are great to prevent theft, they’re also convenient for the essentials: passport, chapstick, headphones, wallet, and they can double as a purse for when you’re on the ground.
Yoga pants with pockets
$
We all know the joys of putting on a comfy pair of yoga pants. There’s nothing better for long haul flights. However, when they don’t have pockets, the benefits start to dwindle. I found these yoga pants with pockets that are now a staple in my workout and travel gear. A game changer.
Oasis Kindle E Reader
$$
This is also featured in our “for book lovers” section, but we needed to add it here because having 20 books in your bag will start causing some serious neck pains… trust me. I know. Kindle Oasis is an e-reader that I’ve carried with me for several years now. It’s light weight, has light that’s easy on the eyes, and has buttons to click through. Great product!
Lifestraw Filtered Water Bottle
$
These waterbottles are incredible. They filter out the smallest of viruses, so you have access to filtered drinking water wherever you are in the world. Plus, the company does great work giving back and installing water filters around the world to give clean drinking water to those who need it most. They have home filters also. Water will never taste the same again.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 with Noise Cancellation
$$
Ear buds are essential for work, play, and listening to a podcast while washing dishes and not bothering your partner. I finally got my hands on Apple’s airpods with noise cancellation and wow. I’m impressed! My curly hair doesn’t knock them out of my ears like the previous version. Highly recommend.
Bose Noise Canceling Headphones
$$
Game changing tech here folks. I’ve found focus on baby-filled flights and noisy airports only thanks to my noise canceling headphones. I find the earbuds are better for active life, and the ear-muff style headphones are comfier for in-flight, make sure you travel with the plug in adaptor for the seat back entertainment. Regardless, it’s a great investment for travel. Pro tip: when walking around, use only one side of the headphones for safety.
For the Filmmaker
Fujifilm X100VI
$$$
This is THE camera of 2024. It’s a tiny, lightweight, point and shoot fixed-lens camera that’s primarily for photos, but can also shoot high quality video. This camera syncs well with your phone so you can take a beautiful still, drop it into your phone, and post it immediately. This is my go-to photography camera, it’s no-frills and produces incredible cinematic photos.
Fujifilm Xt5
$$$
For the more advanced filmmaker, it might be a good idea to invest in a quality camera that can give you those smooth and buttery b roll shots that make it look like you’re filming a cinematic production. I have the younger version of this, the Xt4 and it’s my camera to accomplish that. Play around with the wider lenses to find your style, highly recommend! It’s heavier and expensive, but a great product.
DJI Mic 2
$$$
One of the best investments I’ve made in a long time! This is a portable little podcast studio. Two mics, internal memory, options to plug into both iphone and android, an incredible battery life, and an easy sync process to upload the footage. There are even clips and magnets to put the mic in your clothing to be more discreet. This mic pack is worth the investment!Especially if you’re a filmmaker on the go.
Vintage film camera
$$
I love a good film camera moment. This is such a good gift because most people don’t think to buy this for themselves. The trick is to buy a camera that’s been certified and tested. Visit your local camera stores and see if they have any in stock. These cameras are often older and need more TLC, but the photos you get out of them are so nostalgic, and perfect for a traveler who wants to really be in the moment on their trips. Capture photos off the screens!
Adobe Creative Cloud
$$
A tool that can eventually make you a lot of money! This bundle of products is what every professional creative needs to fulfill their projects! From video editing, to photo editing, to 3d design, and Acrobat to help you sign contracts on the go, the Creative Cloud has what you need.
CapCut
$
For the mobile video editor, CapCut has changed the game! You can pre-load your videos into templates that make it seem like you’re a movie editor with barely any effort. My 12 year old nephew loves it, that’s how user friendly it is. CapCut is a great resource to get you started in the online content creation world without needing to invest in a giant computer setup
Final Cut Pro X
$$
I’m an old school Final Cut Pro X girl. This is for when you graduate from iMovie, and want to edit on a computer without overly complicated commands. Learn the quick keys on FCP and you’ll never go back. Highly recommended. Without this software, my career wouldn’t be nearly what it is.
For the Home Owner
Click and Grow Smart Garden
$$
I was gifted one of these machines years ago, and now I’m a loyal fan. I just bought the 9 pod version and am about to harvest my red hot chilli peppers here in dark, cold, and gloomy Belgium! These Click & Grow machines allow you to garden all year round. It’s a gift that keeps on giving. They have tons of plants, flowers, and even blank soil for you to grow what your heart desires.
Smart lightbulbs
$
In terms of creating a vibey space, smart bulbs that can change colors really take it over the top! Different colored lights can create different moods. Whether you want to simulate a sunset to wind down, or create a brighter space in the morning, these lightbulbs have been a big highlight in my decorating. They even pair with Google and Alexa.
Ring Camera
$$
As a homeowner, this tiny device gives me so much peace of mind! When I travel, or am away, I know the minute someone is at my door with a package, or if the deer decided to come and eat the flower beds in the early morning. A game changer, and you can have one device linked to multiple phones so the whole house stays connected.
For the Experience Lover
Experiential Dining
$
I’m a lover of doing something ordinary in a crazy way. Like having dinner… in the dark. Dans le Noir is a restuarant concept that creates three course meals in pitch black darkness for instance. There are many other ways to make dining fun, but it starts with a good google search and a committment to a date. This will create an unforgettable experience.
For the Bio Hacker
Oura Ring
$$$
As an entrepreneur who travels all the time and sleeps like crap, I decided to invest in an Oura ring and it’s changed how I view my health. This tiny ring will track vital information like your sleep quality, heart rate, daily activity, and body temperature which tells you not only if you might be getting sick, but what stage you’re likely in during your cycle. It’s helped my increase my average nightly sleep from six hours to eight, and has made me way more active. You have to pay a small subscription fee, but it’s worth it in my opinion.
Foam Roller
$
I used to work at a chiropractor, and got several years of both physical therapy and personal training and one thing all these experiences had in common was foam rollers. These are great post-workout, or even after a long work day of being stiff in the office. Your muscles will love the TLC.
BedJet 3 Climate Control for Sleep
$$$
This is a little expensive, but sleep is essential, so it might be worth the splurge. This technology will keep your bed cool all night long so you avoid the night sweats and get your eight hours in nightly. If you’re an icicle, you can also warm up the mattress!

Show Your Work by Austin Kleon
$
This small coffee table book is so powerful. It reminds you of the simplicity of sharing your journey with the public as a way to not only stay accountable, but to create better products and services as a result. And how it can be way more fun. This book changed my business strategy, and it’s a game changer.
Contagious by Jonah Berger
$
I assigned myself this book for film school to understand how to make ideas catch on, and it changed how I see my business strategy in the best way. This book will outline scientific ways to make your ideas and messages catch on. It’s essential in this world of clutter and lack of originality.
The Business of Belonging by David Spinks
$
A guidebook on how to create and nurture community-driven businesses. In the age of cluttered information, artificial intelligence, and content overload what will always resonate is good, old fashioned community. But there’s an art to creating a thriving world of traditions, nomenclature, and life-long support from members.
The Copywriter's Handbook by Robert Bly
$
A MUST READ for all entrepreneurs. Founders are typically their company’s greatest copywriters, and even if you’re not, you need to know the art of direct-sales-copywriting to be able to hire (or fire) a copywriter to hype up your products and services. This guidebook is dense and looks at the psychology of writing as opposed to the fluffy stuff.
